"Spirit"

Emilie Panasiuk
"spirit"
acrylic on canvas

I have heard time and again people tell me that they cannot draw a stick figure with any luck. Although I almost always let it go, I believe that everyone can experience the Spirit of Art and produce work that is great and meaningful. There is no way to put a value on pure and honest expression. In Fact, you would be surprised what you are capable of doing!
We spent time today giving the Kids 30 minutes alone in the studio just to listen to the Spirit and put paint on canvas. The results where amazing! In the picture shown above, Emilie painted a breath taking painting titled "spirit". So awesome!
Spend some time today just taking in this magnificent life that we have! Life is beautiful. No matter where you are.

Urban Painting Series

"Grace"
acrylic on canvas
20"x 24"

This painting is hanging in my breakfast nook and it amazes me everytime I sit to eat or read or facebook. It looks different in every part of the day. The morning light brings out the soft tones and peacfulness. Then, in the afternoon, its vibrant with the splashes of color. At this very moment the sun is down and the florecent twisty bulb produces a very Santa Cruz Boardwalk flavor with the smell of corndogs...oh wait..."Kids! your snack is ready!"

Oh well... I just wanted to share it again just in case I never posted this pic!

Painting Job from the Bible

Closing Challenge - Super Servants - Job from Bridgeway Christian on Vimeo.

This was such a fun thing to be involed with...it was fun painting while there was two cameras on me and I think the video turned out great! I just painted another character from the Bible named Epaphroditus which will be shown at the end of the Services at Bridgeway Christian Church in two weeks!

"The Process"

I was painfully reminded that finding good canvas to paint on these days can be very expensive according to your proximity to Utrecht. I went to Aaron Brothers today and was shocked that they charge $16.00 for a canvas 16"x20". So don't worry friends, I have dedicated the next post to help you step by step build your own canvas and save you big bucks! I have been building my own for years and it helps me stay involved the work all the way through. Besides...why should all the sweat shops in China have all the fun of making these canvas'!

Africa

I have always enjoyed watching people paint. When I was in college I would browse videos in the library and my favorite selection was De Kooning. There is a video of him painting for about 40 min. it's awesome! Here is the video of the painting from the previous post. Enjoy!

Lion Head

Acrylic and Oil on canvas 12"x16"

Here is a painting that I did in my studio last night. And I am working on producing the video of the painting. My last video art painting of Christ was recieved well and I was touched and pleased with the variety of stories that I heard and how much it was shared with friends. Thanks guys! But what I was touched by the most was a little 8 year old girl Mackenzie who saw the video and wanted to pause it and she sat down and drew her own picture of Christ. So I did this painting for Mackenzie because she loves animals. And I am pleased to have presented it to her today with the video of the work.

Art belongs to children.

Seascape

Oil on Canvas 13"x34"

This is a small piece that was fun to paint. I feel so good about many things being organized in my life with me and my family. Even though it's not clear as to what will come I am sure that the big picture is coming together nicely. I always default to painting the sea. I am not an obstructionist although I love when things are ambiguous and this painting will help me take my next step. Painting is not about subject matter but more about application of product and connecting; in the end we are nothing more than spirit.
